RAMP is offering advocacy training workshops for parents struggling with getting the educational services they need to succeed.
Trainings equip parents with the knowledge and resources to help them help their children.
Through the end of the year there will be three different workshops offered at the DeKalb office, 115 N. First St.
Trainings cost $10 each and seats can be reserved online at https://tinyurl.com/parenttrainings.
The three upcoming workshops are:
• Special Education & Disability Services 101, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 22. Topics include IEP vs. 504 Plan; FAPE & IDEA; medical diagnosis vs. educational eligibility; and how to request an evaluation.
• Special Education & Disability Services 201, 10:30 to 1:30 a.m. Nov. 5. Topics include how to read/understand evaluation results; and how to read/prepare for the IEP, 504 or eligibility meetings.
• Special Education & Disability Services 301, 10:30 to 1:30 a.m. Nov. 19. Topics include goals, accommodations and least restrictive environment/inclusion
