Letter: Democrats to hold forum for 16th District primary hopefuls

To the Editor:

The Illinois primary election is March 20 and early voting has begun.

Voters for the 16th Congressional District seat held by U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Channahon, have choices in the 2018 election. On the Democratic side, four candidates are running, and on the Republican side, Kinzinger has a challenger.

Come to a forum Sunday to hear the views of the four Democrats. Sponsored by DeKalb Stands, an Indivisible group, the forum is at the DeKalb Public Library in the Yusunas Room from 2 to 4 p.m. The candidates will be answering audience questions.

Kinzinger invariably votes to support President Donald Trump. If you don’t like the direction our country is taking, if you are unhappy with the president and the Republicans who rubber-stamp his agenda while overlooking his ethics violations and hateful, divisive language, you’ll want to find the strongest Democrats to vote for.

Don’t run the risk of walking into the voting booth March 20 and seeing these names, Neill Mohammad, Sara Dady, Beth Vercolio-Osmund and Amy Murri Briel, without knowing what they think about the issues and how they plan to win in November.

Come to the library Sunday.

Then vote March 20.
