Sandwich High School students are assisting Fox Valley Older Adult Services on a regular basis with mailings, library organization and other important tasks.

Teachers Katie Trupiano and JoAnn Minter accompany students one afternoon each week to FVOAS to train and guide them in various tasks.

The students experience many aspects of a working senior center along with getting to know FVOAS volunteers, staff and participants.

Hundreds of adult volunteers regularly support FVOAS in helping seniors continue to live vital and independent lives. Through active adult activities at the senior center, adult day service and home services, including 24/7 private home services, FVOAS and its partner, Voluntary Action Center, assist thousands of seniors in LaSalle, DeKalb, Kane and Kendall counties.

For information on services or volunteering, call 815-786-9404, visit fvoas.org or stop by the Fox Valley Community Center at 1406 Suydam Road in Sandwich for a personal tour.
